The original pointillism was mid-day. This image is twilight time. There is a visual sinking effect in this print. The island was a top destination in Paris. Men and women went for a sail. Children played during the afternoons. The city stood still. Time stood still until nightfall. The women were heavily dressed. Children were lightly dressed in the warm summer sun. Small sailboats were set out on the pond. Little dogs accompanied their owners. This print belongs in the home of a Francophile high up above the mantel of the fireplace is the spot for this ready-to-hang canvas.
